Cai, is an 11-year-old child author living with SCD. Cai’s personal journey with the disease has been the driving force behind the foundation’s creation. Struggling to find a community of peers who understood her experience, and facing the isolation that comes with a lack of awareness about SCD, Cai wanted to create a space for children like her to feel seen, supported, and connected.
